How does diagnostics work in PSA vehicles?

In vehicles from the PSA group (Peugeot, Citroën, DS), control modules communicate through different diagnostic communication buses. Some modules, such as the engine, transmission, or ABS, use the standard communication system. These modules can be diagnosed using only a diagnostic interface, such as SDPROG OBD. However, other modules, including:

Airbag (SRS)
Body Control Module (BSI, BCM)
Comfort modules (air conditioning, electric windows, etc.)
Driver assistance modules

operate on different communication buses and use different pins in the OBD2 connector. To scan these modules, you need both the diagnostic interface and the SDA3 adapter.
IMPORTANT: When the adapter is connected, you will not be able to scan the modules supported by the interface alone. This is normal and results from the different communication structure used by these modules.

How to use the SDA3 adapter

Check which modules you want to scan.
If you want to scan engine, ABS, and similar modules – use only the diagnostic interface.
If you want to scan body, comfort, or other additional modules – use the interface together with the SDA3 adapter.
Plug the device into the OBD2 port in the vehicle and start the SDPROG application.
