SDPROG: software or complete diagnostic kit

Vehicle Diagnostics with the SDPROG App

The SDPROG app allows you to quickly check your vehicle’s technical condition and understand the cause of issues – without specialized knowledge or visits to the mechanic.
  • Read and clear DTC fault codes in minutes
  • Live viewing of engine operating parameters
  • Quick and complete diagnostics – OBDII and Service Mode
  • Available with or without a diagnostic OBD scanner
  • Dedicated to car, motorcycle, and ATV / quad diagnostics
Check below what features the SDPROG app offers and how you can use them in practice.
Click to switch diagnostic modes
Quick Diagnostics: OBDII Mode
Full Diagnostics: Service Mode

Quick Diagnostics: OBDII Mode

  • Read and clear engine fault codes (Check Engine)
  • Useful insights when buying a used car (e.g., time elapsed since fault occurrence)
  • Essential parameters: temperature, battery voltage, boost pressure
  • Additional diagnostic features

Engine Diagnostics

In the Diagnostics tab, you can read and clear vehicle DTC fault codes. Clearing fault codes must be performed with the ignition ON and the engine OFF. Fault codes are categorized into:
  • Stored codes: Confirmed fault codes indicating an active issue that illuminates the MIL/Check Engine light.
  • Pending codes: Intermittent fault codes that occurred occasionally and were not re-logged; they do not trigger the MIL/Check Engine light.
  • Permanent codes: Previously cleared codes where the engine control unit (ECU) has not yet confirmed the fault is resolved (applies to CAN bus vehicles).

Live Parameters

The “Parameters” tab displays real-time live data read from the vehicle.
  • Real-time parameter monitoring
  • Dynamic line graph visualization
  • Side-by-side comparison of 2 parameters simultaneously

Diagnostic Monitors / Readiness Tests

The “Diagnostic Monitors” tab checks the status of OBD readiness monitors. A diagnostic monitor is an automated system check executed under specific driving conditions defined by the vehicle manufacturer.
  • Green: No DTCs, all readiness monitors completed
  • Yellow: No DTCs, diagnostic monitors incomplete
  • Red: DTCs present, diagnostic monitors incomplete

Battery Test

The “Battery” tab provides an in-depth analysis of the vehicle battery status and voltage regulator performance.
Battery voltage is represented via time-series line graphs as well as circular value gauges.
Analyze voltage curves using interactive cursors and timeline scrubbing.
  • Static voltage test
  • Engine cranking test
  • Voltage regulator test 1
  • Voltage regulator test 2

Acceleration Test

The “Acceleration Test” tab measures the time required for the vehicle to reach a specific speed threshold or cover a preset distance.

Performance Gauges

The “Gauges” tab lets you continuously track multiple vehicle parameters using digital numeric readouts or circular dial gauges.
All supported vehicle parameters are accessible. To change a parameter slot, tap and hold the desired data field and select a new parameter from the list. Sample parameters:
  • Intake Air Temperature
  • Vehicle Speed
  • Engine RPM

G-Sensor

The “G-Sensor” tab measures real-time G-force metrics acting on the user’s smartphone while driving.
To ensure accurate readings, place the device in a completely stationary position and select “Calibrate.”

Settings

In the settings menu, you can select the app language, choose the connection type for your OBD scanner, toggle extra settings, or export diagnostics raport. App logs are diagnostic files that help us troubleshoot issues so our technical support team can resolve user inquiries faster.

Full Diagnostics: Service Mode

  • Read fault codes across various electronic control modules (ABS, Airbag, and more)
  • Service-level live parameters, including DPF filter status
  • In-depth vehicle health and performance analysis
  • Available for selected car, motorcycle, and ATV / quad makes and models

Select Model and Year of Manufacture

The available functionality in Service Mode varies depending on the vehicle’s make, model, and model year.
This is due to variations in electronic systems and control unit communication protocols used by different vehicle manufacturers. We continuously expand our vehicle compatibility list by adding new models and engine variants with every software update.

Full Multi-System Diagnostic Scan

The app enables comprehensive diagnostics of all installed onboard modules across cars, motorcycles, and ATVs (e.g., ABS, SRS/Airbag).
  • Scan and diagnose every module present in the vehicle for a complete overview of individual system conditions and performance.
  • Clear DTC fault codes from specific control modules to resolve warning lights and restore optimal system performance.

Engine Selection

We regularly add new engine variants for every vehicle model, steadily increasing overall software compatibility. We support petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains.

Advanced Diagnostics

Service Mode unlocks advanced fault codes unavailable under standard OBDII protocols. Beyond engine checks, you can perform full scans across all available control units for a complete vehicle health audit. Furthermore, fault code status flags help distinguish active issues from historical DTCs stored in memory.
  • Status [MIL ON]
  • Active
  • Intermittent / Sporadic
  • Historical

Live Service Parameters

Read available vehicle live data, including critical particulate filter parameters for diesel and petrol engines (DPF, GPF, PEF, and FAP). This allows drivers to monitor soot levels and particulate filter condition to maintain engine performance and fuel efficiency.

  6. Oil level

Manual configuration (SDPROG TOOLS)

SDPROG TOOLS Main Page
You can also configure the device yourself using the SDPROG TOOLS mobile app.
  • Change the number of displayed parameters
  • Determine their order.
  • Select other available parameters
This allows you to customize the display exactly to your needs or change the configuration for a different vehicle.
Note: The SDPROG TOOLS app is free and intended solely for device configuration. It should not be confused with the SDPROG app, which is used for vehicle diagnostics and requires a purchased license and an account to use.

Why does the SDPROG DASH monitor return “-“?

In some vehicles, a “–” symbol may appear instead of a parameter value. This indicates that the engine control unit does not provide the specific parameter, making it unavailable for that vehicle.
The range of data depends on the engine control unit and the information it provides for the specific model. In such cases, simply select a different available parameter that is supported by the vehicle.
